À quoi sert une assurance expatriation ou voyage longue durée ?
Une assurance internationale vous couvre pour les frais de santé, l’hospitalisation, l’assistance et certains imprévus à l’étranger. Dans de nombreux pays, les soins peuvent être très coûteux et non pris en charge par la sécurité sociale française. Une assurance adaptée évite des dépenses importantes et facilite l’accès aux soins.
L’assurance est-elle obligatoire pour partir à l’étranger ?
Cela dépend du pays et du type de visa. De nombreux visas (PVT, étudiant, long séjour) exigent une assurance couvrant les frais médicaux et le rapatriement. Même quand elle n’est pas obligatoire, elle est fortement recommandée pour éviter des frais élevés en cas de problème de santé.
Puis-je souscrire une assurance après mon arrivée à l’étranger ?
Certaines assurances acceptent une souscription après le départ, mais ce n’est pas toujours le cas et des délais de carence peuvent s’appliquer. Il est préférable de souscrire avant le départ pour être couvert dès le premier jour.
